Cling to Me

“Then they wept aloud again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law [goodbye], but Ruth clung to her.”

‭‭Ruth‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ‭AMP‬‬

After reading text, Holy Spirit highlighted v.14, so I meditated on the Word.

God is calling us to a deeper level of intimacy with Him. He wants us to cling to Him, we must become His habitation, nothing else will do. Ruth was so steadfast in her devotion to her mother-in-law, “For where you go I will go and where you lodge I will lodge. …and your God will be my God..”

We must not lose sight of  Jesus. Where can we turn? Oprah kissed her mother-in-law, Naomi, goodbye and how many of us have walked with Christ but presently, you are feeling like there is no use to continue. Maybe you have faced  or facing some painful situations and the devil is whispering that there is no sense in carrying on.  Please cling to Jesus, He never fails, He is a covenant keeping God. Let your roots grow deep down  in Christ Jesus, so you will bear fruit upward.

Ruth clung  to her mother-in-law and followed her from Moab to Bethel. What a blessing Ruth reaped in Bethel? Wow God is good. Ruth a Moabite was listed in the genealogy of Jesus.

Moab was an idolatrous nation but Ruth chose to leave all that behind and clung to the God of Naomi. My dear readers, maybe like Orprah you are struggling to walk away from trusting in Jesus, stop and read the book of Ruth.

I pray that you will have a divine encounter with Holy Spirit and that He reveals the heart of Jesus to you.

In Jesus mighty name. Amen

  1. A great devotional . I think we (this generation) were not shown / raised to cling to the things of God. We cling to everything else. HS help us!
